Hong Kong — the cultural melting pot where East meets West and tradition meets the avant-garde — is laying out a conversation in art that crosses both time and space, and doing it to its own urban rhythm. From the global spotlight of Art Basel to the local experiments of neighbourhood galleries; from avant-garde installations inside century-old buildings to digital art beneath the harbour skyline, the sheer density of exhibitions and events is what makes Hong Kong an international art hub. Here, art is not only something to look at. It is the air the city breathes, the blood in its veins, a bright and inseparable part of its genetic make-up.

M+博物館《畢加索——與亞洲對話》展覽Picasso for Asia — A Conversation, at M+

展覽由M+與巴黎國立畢加索藝術館共同主辦，是該收藏首次與亞洲博物館藏品同場展示。展覽亦是十多年來首個在香港舉辦的大型畢加索展覽，以前所未有、獨一無二的視角探索畢加索無遠弗屆的影響力，以及在這個時代成為藝術家的意義。Co-organised by M+ and the Musée national Picasso-Paris, this is the first time that collection has been shown alongside the holdings of an Asian museum. It is also the first major Picasso exhibition in Hong Kong in more than a decade, taking an unprecedented and singular view of the artist’s far-reaching influence, and of what it means to be an artist in our own time.

《廉頗藺相如列傳》The Biographies of Lian Po and Lin Xiangru

以銅為鏡，可以正衣冠；以古為鏡，可以知興替；以人為鏡，可以明得失。With bronze as a mirror, one can straighten one’s dress; with history as a mirror, one can understand the rise and fall of states; with people as a mirror, one can see one’s own gains and losses.

《廉頗藺相如列傳》講述趙國文武兩位大將之間發生的誤會糾葛。全文生動刻畫了廉頗、藺相如性格各異的人物形象，他們或耿直或忠厚，或魯莽或機智，形象鮮明生動。The Biographies of Lian Po and Lin Xiangru tells the story of the misunderstanding that grew up between the state of Zhao’s foremost general and its foremost minister. The text draws the two men vividly and quite differently — one blunt, one steady; one impetuous, one quick-witted — and both come off the page fully alive.

課程中，老師先帶領同學一起觀賞電影選段，觀察劇中人物動作神態，揣摩台詞深意，分析人物特徵。學生再開始動筆創作，生動的人物形象，精巧的情節構思躍然紙上。In class, the teacher first watches film excerpts with the students, looking closely at how the characters move and carry themselves, weighing the meaning behind the lines and analysing what each character is like. Only then do the students begin to write — and lively characters and carefully constructed plots take shape on the page.

《歲月神偷》Echoes of the Rainbow

這部獲得第29屆香港電影金像獎多項獎項的電影作品值得人們反覆研習觀摩。電影選材貼近生活，拍攝地點更選取學生耳熟能詳的學校——拔萃男書院和聖士提反書院。A multiple winner at the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards, this film repays repeated viewing and study. Its subject matter is close to everyday life, and it was shot at schools our students know well — Diocesan Boys’ School and St. Stephen’s College.

劇中多金句台詞，在演戲劇本中更能感受到編劇的文學底蘊。例如：The film is full of memorable lines, and working through the script in performance makes the screenwriter’s literary sensibility clearer still. For example:

1. 鞋字，一半難，一半佳；難一步，佳一步。1. Half of the character for “shoe” (鞋) is hardship and half is good fortune: one hard step, one good step.

2. 魚是最快樂的，因為它的記憶只有三秒鐘。2. Fish are the happiest creatures, because their memory lasts only three seconds.

學生在感受電影劇本台詞精妙之餘，還能重寫劇本，重現人物高光時刻。Besides appreciating how finely the film’s lines are written, students rewrite the script and stage the characters’ defining moments again for themselves.
